15/1 Match Goals Accumulator

We started off in Portugal when Feirense took on Sporting. The acca looked in trouble from the get go when the first half ended goalless however a quick start to the second half saw us get past leg 1 as Coates and Fernandes netted for Sporting, and Silva scored for Feirense.

Over to Denmark next as Hobro hosted Sonderjyske, the home team are known for their fast starts and today was no different as they scored in the 16th minute. Parity was restored 3 minutes later as Zimling converted a penalty. We had to wait till the 52nd minute for leg 2 to land, as Kopplin fired the home team back in front.

Italy next, and what a game this was! Pescara went 3-0 up inside the first half against their opponents Frosinone, only to blow the whole lead and draw 3-3! They were lucky to not lose in the end as Frosinone dominated the second half and had a few good chances to win it.

The Scottish Champions were next on the list as Celtic travelled to Hamilton and like the Italian leg we didn’t have to wait long as Celtic stormed into a 3-0 half time lead thanks to goals from Armstrong and a brace from Scott Sinclair. No repeat of Italy in the second half however Hamilton did get on the scoresheet in the 86th minute after Edouard added to Celtic’s lead in the 65th minute.

The penultimate leg saw us head over to France where Metz played host to a frightening PSG forward line that consisted of Cavani, Mbappe, Neymar and Draxler. It looked to be 1 way traffic as Cavani opened the scoring however the hosts shocked the visitors with an equaliser from none other than former Newcastle flop Riviere to ensure the home side went into half time all square. Assou-Ekotto famously once said he did not enjoy playing football, and today had an early bath after a shocking 2 footed tackle on teenage starlet Mbappe. 1 way traffic ensued as PSG fired 4 without reply through Mbappe, Neymar, Cavani and substitute Lucas finding the scoresheet.

Our final leg comes from Portugal, as Benfica took on Portimonense and you would be forgiven for thinking this was in the bag however, like the first, we looked in trouble as this game also went into half time goalless. Even more concerning was Benfica didn’t really create any clear cut chances in the first half. We had another shock goal help us out here as Portimonense took the lead with a sensational run and cross keeper strike by Fabricio to put the visitors 1-0 up. Joy turned into worry as 3 minutes later Hackman got given a straight red for a last man challenge conceding a penalty at the same time which Jonas coolly converted from the spot. It was all Benfica from then on however the winning goal was not one you see very often, a cross come shot from Almeida beat the keeper at his far post and dropped in just under the bar, a spectacular wasy to win the accumulator! Check the goal out below! Puskas award contender?
