FST – Transfers In

For GW8, we’ve decided to use our ‘wildcard’, which entitles us to unlimited transfers up until the deadline. Given their upcoming run of fixtures, our selections are very Man City and Chelsea orientated.

Forwards

Harry Kane (Spurs) – £12.7m

Tottenham vs burnley predictions, betting tips and match preview

With August behind him, Harry Kane seems back to his best! Not only has he scored 6 goals and earned 9 bonus points over his last four Premier League outings, but he also scored a hat-trick in Tottenham’s Champions League match against APOEL and both of England’s goals during the international break. Nothing is stopping the English forward at the moment, and we don’t expect Bournemouth to either.

Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) – £10.5m
Manchester City v Swansea City - Premier League

Gabriel Jesus has been a huge fantasy prospect since making his first appearance for Manchester City back in January. Jesus has recorded 11 goals and 5 assists over 14 Premier League outings for the Citizens, and not for a spell sidelined, he’d have registered a whole lot more. With Aguero out for the time being, the Brazilian will likely be the key player in front of goal, clocking 90 minutes week-in-week-out.

Midfielders

David Silva (Man City) – £8.5mMan City vs Crystal Palace

Manchester City’s veteran playmaker looks reborn in his eighth Premier League campaign, thriving under Guardiola’s new tactical system. Silva has benefitted from being deployed closer to forwards Aguero and Jesus, assisting six goals already this season. His supply of 23 key passes for the season is surpassed by just one Premier League player, Kevin de Bruyne (24).

Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – £10.5m – CAPTAIN

Chelsea Premier League

Hazard managed his first Premier League start of the season against Man City and should be set to be unleashed again this weekend against Crystal Palace. When it comes to premium-priced FPL midfielders, goals are a huge factor, and the Belgian is not unfamiliar with finding the back of the net. He’s expected to remain as Chelsea’s designated spot-kick taker and Chelsea’s very favourable run of fixtures should make him a valuable long term investment – 9 of Chelsea’s next 11 fixtures are rated 2 on the Fixture Difficulty Ranking (FDR).

Pascal Groß (Brighton) – £5.7m

Bournemouth vs Brighton predictions, betting tips and match preview. While Pascal Groß is versatile enough to play on either wing or as a central midfielder, Brighton boss Chris Hughton has had the German take up the role in “the hole” behind a lone striker. Brighton have needed some time to get going, but the new boy has started to prove his worth. Groß has excelled in the Seagulls more favourable fixtures and we like their chances this weekend at home to Everton.

Defenders

John Stones (Man City) – £5.6mChelsea vs City

Manchester City’s defense looks more sound than ever after the opening seven Premier League matches – City have kept five clean sheets and conceded the joint fewest goals in the division (2). Stones has cemented his spot in the City back line, with 6 starts from 7 matches, and his intimidating presence from set pieces gives him some attacking potential too. At just £5.6m, he is priced VERY reasonably. With 6 of City’s next 8 outings also rated 2 on the FDR, we’d expect consistent returns from the Englishman in the coming weeks.

Jose Fonte (West Ham) – £4.9m

West Brom vs West Ham

Since returning to the Hammers’ starting XI against Huddersfield, Fonte has led West Ham to record three clean sheet in four matches. He is another defender that poses a threat from set pieces, recording 2 assists already this season, and West Ham also have a reasonable run of fixtures in the coming weeks, facing Burnley (A), Brighton (H), Palace (A) and Watford (A) over their next five.
