All eyes this Tuesday evening will likely be on the Champions League as the world’s elite club competition is in it’s knock out stages but back home in England there is a key clash in League Two, as two sides fight to retain their place in the Football League. Bottom side Barnet welcome the side sat just above the drop zone, Port Vale, to the Hive Stadium on Tuesday and we think that home advantage will be key to them claiming all three points.
There is plenty to be concerned about for Barnet at the moment and they certainly face an uphill battle if they are to retain their spot in the Football League for another season. The Bees are six points adrift of safety and have played a game more than this Tuesday’s visitors, so anything less than a victory will surely be seen as a hammer blow to their survival chances.
Added to their woes is the fact that they have the worst home record in League Two this season so far, as they have managed to claim just 17 points from their 17 outings. However, with five goals conceded in their previous four outings, and three of them coming in one game, there is signs of improvements in their defence so, if they can retain this, then they should be confident in their ability to claim an all important three points.
That confidence should only increase when they see that their visitors are in horrendous form at the moment, having failed to win in each of their last 10 outings. Port Vale have also claimed just four wins on the road so far this term so can hardly be classed as one of the best travelling teams in the country.
