The race for the League Two title took another major twist at the weekend as Luton Town lost their place at the top of the league for the first time in many weeks, following their defeat to Accrington Stanley on Saturday. The Hatters have the opportunity to reclaim their number one spot at the earliest possible opportunity this Tuesday evening, but they have to overcome a very difficult trip to Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena in order to do so. Unfortunately for the visitors, it is a task we think will prove to be beyond them and we are backing the hosts to claim all three points.
However, the bookies clearly do not agree with our assessment of the situation and they have priced the Hatters as the firm favourites in the clash. There is plenty of factors which supports the bookies view and, although we are confident in a home win, we think it would be wise to add a bit of a safety net. This safety net takes the form of the ‘Draw – No Bet’ clause, which simply means if the match finishes in a stalemate, our bet would be made void and our stake would be refunded.
We are not done there either, as although Luton have been scoring plenty this season, they have been a bit more blunted in attack of late. This is partly due to the fact that Danny Hylton has been struggling with a hamstring injury and Jamie Collins was missing at the weekend due to suspension. However, now they face the daunting prospect of facing off against the best defence in the division and, given that Coventry have won to nil in each of their last two outings, it’s a defence in form at present. With this in mind, we think that combining our initial tip of a Coventry win with there to be less than 2.5 goals scored looks to represent some excellent value for those of you looking for a tip with a higher return.
