Reason For Inter Milan vs Sampdoria Betting Tips

Inter Milan have been allowed a little extra rest after the international break, as they look to snatch the final Champions League spot late in the campaign. The Nerazzurri host Sampdoria on Monday night as they aim to claim another three points towards their top three push, although the visitors are no pushovers. The Blucerchiati are a decent attacking outfit who have little to lose by taking an attacking approach. Also, they already damaged Inter with a 1-0 victory over them earlier this season.

The hosts will be expecting a very different game on Monday night to that clash in October. Firstly, there should be more goals in this meeting. Inter have scored in every outing at the San Siro in Serie A, with 71% of their matches here seeing at least three goals scored. A recent surge in home form has seen Stefano Pioli’s team move up the standings, and they now boast the fourth best home record in the division.

Inter have won 71% of their matches at home this term, suffering just two defeats. They’ve won 12 of their 15 games at this ground since Frank De Boer was sacked, only losing to sides who are currently within the top four under their new boss. That’s bad news for Sampdoria, who have lost half of their 14 away games this term, averaging just 0.93 points per game on their travels. It’s hard to see them turning that around against a team with Champions League ambitions.

While Samp aren’t resilient enough to claim regular victories on the road, they’ve got a strong scoring record. The Blucerchiati have found the net in 86% of their trips, scoring in 10 of their last 11 away in Serie A. Inter have conceded six times in their last four at home, while half of their home victories have seen them concede a goal.

The visitors are expected to line up with Bruno Fernandes and Patrik Schick in support of Fabio Quagliarella, who has scored three times in five starts. Those three have over 20 goals between them, and they will have opportunities to add to that total. Sampdoria are comfortably in the top half of the table, which allows them to take risks here.

We can see the visitors scoring, but we’re still backing Inter to come out on top. They’ve scored twice or more in their last 11 home victories, while Sampdoria have scored exactly one goal in 79% of their trips. That has us backing the Nerazzurri and BTTS, which is 6/4 with bet365. We’re also going for a 2-1 victory for the hosts, which is a 7/1 shot, also with bet365.

Inter Milan Team News

Inter Milan Team Badge Inter come in to this game with a full strength squad, which is a huge boost to their hopes of making next season's Champions League.

Sampdoria Team News

Sampdoria Team Badge Sampdoria may be without Luis Muriel, but that gives young forward Patrik Schick an opportunity. He's been great coming off the bench for Samp, and now he gets a shot at a starting place. Aside from that, the visitors are at full strength.
