Manchester United’s ruthless streak came back to the forefront at the weekend as they picked up a crucial 2-1 win over arch rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford. They relinquished much of the possession to Jurgen Klopp’s visiting team, but Marcus Rashford took advantage of two careless mistakes and put the hosts 2-0 up. A comedy own goal brought Liverpool back into it, but the Old Trafford faithful saw their side see out the win and put themselves five points clear of their rivals.
Now, Jose Mourinho’s attentions turn towards the Champions League. A goalless draw wasn’t exactly the most entertaining of matches in the first leg, but coming back to Old Trafford on level terms will have been precisely what Mourinho was aiming for in the first leg.
The Red Devils recent form overall is very promising too, with four wins and one draw in their last five outings. At home they have lost just one competitive game all season, winning 17 of their 20 matches including all three of their Champions League ties at Old Trafford.

Sevilla, meanwhile, suffered a home loss against Valencia on Saturday to leave them 5th in La Liga, some 11 points adrift of Valencia now. This puts their Champions League ambitions for next season at a major disadvantage, so they will want to take advantage of the competition this time round.
However, the La Liga side’s form isn’t great. They have won just five of their last 11 competitive matches, and whilst their away form is decent, they have been put to the sword a few times this campaign. They have won seven, drawn two, and lost nine of their last 18 on the road, with the likes of Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, and Real Madrid all beating them.
This, along with Manchester United’s home record, makes backing a home win look a good choice here. With the hosts conceding in just seven of their 20 home games this season and Sevilla failing to score in five of their nine away losses we’re also backing Manchester United to Win to Nil along with a 2-0 correct score predictions.
Romelu Lukaku is Manchester United’s main outlet up front, and he’s started a bit of a return to form recently. 11 of his 18 goals in the Premier League and Champions League have come at Old Trafford this season, so we’re backing him to find the net again on Tuesday.
