Osmanlispor are stuck in the relegation zone in the Super Lig, and they’re pushing for safety in a clash with Trabzonspor on Monday night. The hosts find themselves two points off safety in 17th, but they’re only six points off 11th in an incredible relegation battle at the bottom of the table. The title fight remains open, while there are still a raft of sides who could drop out of the top flight. With all that going on, the Super Lig is certainly worth taking a look at.
In fact, the only thing certain in Turkey is the four sides who are currently holding the European spots, as fifth placed Trabzonspor are fifth, nine points off the top four with little time to close the gap. However, they are very much on course to be the best of the rest, following last weekends 4-0 win over Kayserispor – the side directly behind them in the table.
That form takes Trabzonspor in to this clash with plenty of confidence, and with an almost 20 point gap between them that’s understandable. The visitors have been strong across the season so far, and they’ve got to be pleased with their season so far. Of course, there’s always the chance that the cup opens up a fifth European place for the visitors to claim, as long as they continue with their current form. They’ll need a victory in Ankara on Monday to do that, but can they push Osmanlispor towards another defeat?
The recent record between these two does suggest that Trabzonspor could pull off a result here. They have won the previous two matches between the sides, while the visitors have won in three of the last four matches between these two sides at this ground. Having won three of their last four league games, you’d give the away side a great chance of continuing that form by taking three points this week.
Further pushing that is the fact that Osmanlispor have failed to score in four of their last five home matches. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor have lost once in their last nine away trips, and that was at title chasing Galatasaray. The visitors have only lost twice in 10 trips to sides below them, while they’re unbeaten in trips to the bottom five. Meanwhile, the home side have yet to beat a top eight side this season, losing four of five home matches against them. With that in mind, we think Trabzonspor Draw No Bet is the way to go here.
