Tottenham managed to avoid an upset last weekend as they comfortably beat Wimbledon in the FA Cup 3rd Round, extending their unbeaten streak to five competitive matches and bouncing back from a disappointing draw against West Ham the Thursday before.
Spurs have dropped far too many needless points this season though, and they reside outside the top four and with a three point gap to make up before reaching 4th placed Liverpool. Given that they have Champions League commitments coming up next month, this is a crucial period for them.
Most of the damage was done back in November and the start of December though, and since then they have seemingly returned to their best. They have won five of their last seven Premier League matches, scoring an impressive 19 goals in the process and winning all of those games by at least a two goal margin. They will be hoping to take advantage of Everton’s downturn in form on Saturday evening as well.
175/1 Spurs vs Everton #OddsOnThat
The Toffees have been completely transformed under Sam Allardyce, and taken from potential relegation candidates to the top half of the table. They come into this match 9th in the table, but some 12 points behind 6th placed Arsenal.
This resurgence has come to an end recently though. They lost at Liverpool in the FA Cup last Friday to make it three defeats on the bounce, and they are without a win in five competitive games now.
Away from home Everton have only won once all season as well, and whilst they have scored in five of their last six on the road, their poor defending often costs them. With Cenk Tosun arriving to bolster the forward line, it’s likely they will get on the scoresheet again here, but Tottenham have proven to be devastating in attack at times and a Tottenham Win and Both Teams to Score looks a good option here.
The best value lies in the handicap market though. Spurs may make hard work of it sometimes, but when they do get the wins they tend to be comprehensive ones. Nine of their 12 Premier League wins this season have been by at least a two goal margin, including all of their last five. We’re going for a Tottenham -1 Handicap Win alongside a 3-1 correct score predictions. With Heung Min-Son scoring in each of his last four home league games he’s also a great value option for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
