Crystal Palace vs Watford

The Sam Alardyce effect seems to be taking hold at Crystal Palace, with back to back wins in the Premier League and two clean sheets in a row as well in the last two matches. They do have a difficult run in towards the end of the season, but they’re hosting a Watford side who have won one, drawn two, and lost seven of their last ten trips away in the Premier League. They have failed to score in five of their last seven on the road as well, so another clean sheet for The Eagles could be on the cards here. The defensive stature has taken it’s toll on their attacking players though, so I fancy a 1-0 win for the hosts.

FST predicts – 1-0 Crystal Palace

Everton vs Hull

Everton’s long term future may have been thrown into disarray by Romelu Lukaku’s refusal of a new contract, but for this season at least they are looking good. They have won five matches on the bounce at Goodison Park, scoring 18 goals and keeping four clean sheets in the process. Hull, meanwhile, haven’t won away from home since the opening day of the season and have lost 11 of their 13 trips away since then. They have failed to score in eight of these, and they’re facing a well balanced Everton side who look devastating in attack at the moment. Everton have scored at least three goals in each of their last five at home, so a 3-0 win for them looks the most likely outcome.

FST predicts -3-0 Everton

Stoke vs Chelsea

Stoke managed to hold of Manchester City last time out, but Chelsea have been far more consistent than their counterparts in terms of getting the three points. The visitors have won 19 of their last 22 games in all competitions and have lost just once in the Premier League since Antonio Conte switched to a back three. The majority of these victories have been by a comfortable margin thanks to their almost unbreakable defensive line. Stoke have lost five of their six matches against the top five by more than a single goal this season as well, so a 2-0 win for the visitors looks the best bet.

FST predicts -2-0 Chelsea

Sunderland vs Burnley

Burnley may have picked up just two points away from home all season, but they’re facing rock bottom side Sunderland on Saturday and this will be a good chance to add to that measly tally. They have scored in eight away games in a row now and are facing one of the Premier League’s worst defences so I can see them finding the net. However, they have kept just one away clean sheet and Sunderland aren’t bad in front of goal at the Stadium of Light. Neither of these teams looks close to winning a match at the moment, so the best bet here is for the spoils to be shared in a 1-1 draw.

FST predicts -1-1 Draw

West Ham vs Leicester

West Ham suffered an unexpected defeat to Bournemouth last weekend, and considering their inconsistencies at the London Stadium this season they won’t be looking forward to hosting a rejuvenated Leicester. The visitors made it through to the Champions League quarter finals in midweek and have won three in a row, but defensively they remain quite vulnerable. They have conceded over two goals per game on the road this season, but they’re facing a West Ham side who have shipped 1.71 goals per game at home this season. The hosts have only won one of their last six home games and have conceded 15 goals in this period, so a high scoring 2-2 draw could be on the cards here.

FST predicts – 2-2 Draw

Birmingham vs Newcastle

Newcastle may have been on the end of a shock defeat last weekend but this season they have tended to raise their game when the stakes really mattered, and I can see them dispatching of Birmingham here. They have won two-thirds of their away games so far this season and have taken 14 points from their last six on the road. Meanwhile, Birmingham have been shocking at home since Gianfranco Zola came in, with six defeats from their eight home games since the new manager arrived. They’ve only scored five goals in these eight matches and are facing the Championship’s top scorers here, so a 2-0 win for the visitors looks a good shout.

FST predicts – 2-0 Newcastle
