Washington Nationals vs Chicago Cubs Picks, Predictions and Betting Tips
Washington Nationals vs Chicago Cubs picks, predictions and betting tips for game five of the series on Thursday night from Nationals Park. Who will come out on top in the winner takes all series decider?
The Nats took game four on Wednesday night 5-0 thanks to a grand slam in the eight from MIchael Taylor. However, if we look at some key stats for this match up it’s not looking good for the Nats to keep the momentum rolling. The Cubs are 10-4 in their last 14 road games, 16-5 in their last 21 games on grass and the Nats are 2-6 in their last 8 playoff home games.
Kyle Hendricks will take the mound for the Cubbies. In game one he allowed just two hits over seven innings during a 3-0 Chicago victory. He’s allowed just one run in his last 18 innings overall.
Gio Gonzalez is on the hill for his second postseason start struggled down the stretch during the regular season and gave up a couple of homers in game two. In such a pressure situation I’m not sure I can trust Gonzalez who has allowed 9 runs in his last 9.1 innings even if the Cubs are struggling on offense.
This is a very tough one to call in such an important game but the Cubs have been in close series before and come out on top so I’m taking them to get the job done again.
