Sky Super 6 Round 37 Tips and Predictions
Bournemouth vs West Ham
Score Prediction: 2-2 Draw
Two of the last three meetings between the Cherries and the Hammers have ended in stalemate, and West Ham’s good run of form suggests they will get something from their trip to the Vitality Stadium.
In six of the last seven encounters between these two clubs both teams have scored, and five of those games have produced over 2.5 goals, so its not surprising that we are predicting four goals to be scored in Saturday’s game.
Bournemouth have kept just one clean sheet in their last six attempts and following a 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park last weekend the pressure is starting to build upon Eddie Howe. How reasonable that pressure is can be debated, Bournemouth sit twelfth in the table and are only three points off the top ten and have a nine point cushion above the relegation zone.
West Ham have only failed to score in two of their last six matches, and have two clean sheets in their last two matches against Arsenal in the league and Birmingham City in the FA Cup. The Hammers have thirty-one points on the board and sit three places above Bournemouth heading into the match.
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
Score Prediction: 2-0 Liverpool
Liverpool recovered from defeats in the league and the FA Cup last weekend with a narrow 1-0 win on the south coast against Brighton, and this weekend they are at home against a Crystal Palace side that have had mixed results of late.
Liverpool have won five and lost just one of their last six encounters with Crystal Palace, keeping two clean sheets in their last three meetings. Saturday’s hosts have only failed to score over 1.5 goals against Palace in one of their last six encounters and head into this weekends game as the big favourites to take all three points.
Crystal Palace have lost their last two home games in the league, but their last two away results have produced wins against Man City and Wolves. Palace have failed to score in two of their last four Premier League games, but appear to play better away from home when there is less pressure on them.
We’re backing Liverpool to collect another important three points this weekend, in what should be a fairly comfortable and routine victory for the hosts.
Man Utd vs Brighton
Score Prediction: 2-0 Man Utd
Solskjær overcame his biggest test so far in his United tenure as the Red Devils recorded a 1-0 win at Wembley against Spurs. United return to more familiar surroundings on Saturday when they hosts mid table Brighton in the Premier League, where another three points will be expected.
The visitors have been inconsistent of late, picking up two wins, two defeats, and two draws from their last six matches in all competitions, but have beaten Man Utd in their last two encounters. The Seagulls haven’t kept a single clean sheet in any of their last six attempts which doesn’t bode well ahead of a trip to Old Trafford.
United have won all of their six games under the guidance of Solskjær, keeping clean sheets in each of their last three wins in league and cup. We’re backing the hosts to run out comfortable 2-0 winners in their own backyard now they have been rejuvenated since Mourinho’s departure.
Newcastle vs Cardiff
Score Prediction: 1-0 Cardiff
Good luck and bad luck was handed out for Newcastle during their 4-2 win over Blackburn Rovers during their FA Cup replay, with United seeing an offside goal go in their favour, but losing two defenders to injuries.
Cardiff provide the opposition at St. James’ Park on Saturday where a win for either club could have huge implications on the rest of their season. Both teams are caught in a relegation battle as things stand and goal scoring has been an issue for both sides.
The last two encounters between the two clubs have produced under 2.5 goals and were expecting another tight and tense affair this weekend. Three of Newcastle’s and four of Cardiff’s last six matches have produced under 2.5 goals, with each club picking up just one win in their last six attempts.
With the injuries to Clark and Lascelles Newcastle are going to be short on numbers at the back, and while Cardiff don’t carry much of a goal threat we expect the visitors to take advantage of their hosts misfortune by beating them 1-0.
Southampton vs Everton
Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
The Saints certainly look a completely new team under Hasenhüttl, but their midweek defeat in the FA Cup to Derby County highlighted both their positives and the negatives within the team. Everton, buoyed by two wins from two in league and cup, head to Saint Mary’s in search of three points that could take them back into the top seven.
Both teams have scored in each of the last four meetings between the two sides, a trend we expect to continue on Saturday. Southampton knocked Everton out of the League Cup on penalties earlier in the season, and the Toffees will be out for revenge this weekend.
Both teams have managed just one clean sheet apiece from their last six matches in league and cup, but its the visitors who head into the game as the form favourites with three wins and three defeats from their last six in all competitions. Southampton have a good record against Everton at this ground, but have only won one of their last six which is why were backing this game to end in a 1-1 draw.
Watford vs Burnley
Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
Both Watford and Burnley are unbeaten in their last four matches and should head into Saturday’s encounter full of confidence.
The hosts have won three of their last six matches in all competitions, but each of those victories have arrived on the road. The Hornets last two home games have seen them draw with Newcastle Utd and lose to Chelsea, and no Dyche has got his team back to their solid best its going to be a tough afternoon against the Clarets.
Watford have scored in all of their last six matches, as have Burnley, which is why we believe both teams will score in Saturday’s game. With both teams playing well, but Burnley having the edge as the form favourites we’re confident that the two sides will cancel each other out and the game will end in a 1-1 draw.
