Both Teams to Score is one of the favourite football betting markets among the punting community, but even though the market itself is easy to understand, landing a winning single BTTS bet or accumulator isn’t quite so straightforward.
In the Premier League for example, both teams have scored in only 53% of the 261 matches played so far in the 2018/19 season, while last year’s equivalent figure for the entire campaign stood at an even lower 49%.
That approximate figure of both teams scoring in about half of the Premier League’s fixtures is mirrored around the vast majority of Europe’s major and minor domestic divisions
As always, there are plenty of outliers lurking behind the overall BTTS averages that are worth keeping an eye on, with teams that break moulds, buck trends and disrupt patterns with regularity across the continent.
To help you delve into the BTTS markets as a more informed bettor, we’ve complied a detailed list of clubs that rank highest for games in which both teams have scored this season.
There is a little overlap between this guide and our “Teams to help you smash the over 2.5 goal market” article in terms of which teams feature, but not as many as you’d imagine…

Major European Leagues – “The Big 5”
First up, is the eternally popular Premier League and two of its most famous clubs make our BTTS cut. Both teams have scored in an eye-watering 91% of Arsenal’s away league matches under new coach Unai Emery this season.
Remarkably, despite sitting in 5th place in the standings, Arsenal are the only Premier League club yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels this season. In comparison, the league’s current bottom 3, Huddersfield, Fulham and Southampton have kept 6 clean sheets between them on the road in 2018/19.
Manchester United supporters have watched both teams hit the net in 83% or 10 of their 12 Premier League fixtures at Old Trafford this term.
Even though his start as United caretaker boss has been overwhelmingly positive, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has yet to formulate a way to reverse that trend. In fact, both teams have scored in 100% of United’s home league games under the Norwegian’s instruction. United take on Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday and you can read our expert pre-match analysis of the game in our preview here.
With no teams in Ligue 1 posting any BTTS statistics worth mentioning, let’s skip France and move a little further south to Spain’s La Liga.
Both teams found a successful route to goal in 91% or 10 of 11 of Celta Vigo’s away games to date this season. Celta travel to play Alaves on Saturday evening on their latest sojourn, and you can back BTTS in that fixture at 10/11 with bet365.
Having seen both teams score in 85% of their home games in La Liga this season, Rayo Vallecano also make an appearance on our list. Incidentally, Atletico Madrid became the first team to stop Rayo scoring at the Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas this season, when they beat their local rivals 1-0 just last weekend.
Over in Italy, Champions League chasing Roma and mid-table dwellers Genoa have been hitting stand-out BTTS figures in Serie A.
Both teams registered in a healthy 83% of Roma’s 12 league games in the Italian capital to date in 2018/19, while both teams rattled the net in 82% of Genoa’s Serie A away fixtures since the summer.
Genoa take their goal-scoring show on the road to Chievo on Sunday, and bet365 have priced BTTS at 19/20 for the game.

Elsewhere, both teams scored in 82% of Werder Bremen’s matches overall this season, while both sides registered in 82% of Borussia Dortmund, Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Bundesliga home matches respectively in 2018/19 so far. Hannover’s away games match that 82% BTTS figure to complete the Bundesliga sextet.
The Best of the Rest
Swiss Super League strugglers Neuchatel Xamax have at least been entertaining their supporters on their way to getting largely lacklustre results at home this season.
The second from bottom side have won only 2 matches at the Stade de la Maladière, though both teams scored in whopping 100% of their 10 games there so far this term.
This weekend, they host an FC Basel team at that venue that has seen goals fly in at both ends in 91% of their away games this season. At 8/15 with bet365, there is still decent value in a both teams to score selection for the fixture.
