Reason For AZ Reserves vs FC Oss Betting Tips
Oss maintained their decent start to the season on match day 12 with a straightforward 2-0 success against FC Eindhoven at Frans Heesen Stadion, and Klaas Wels’ side will be seeking to break into the top five this Friday when they face off against a Jong AZ team who are without a win in seven. Can Oss notch their fourth away win of the campaign at AFAS Stadion or will Jong stop the rot?
After a barren few weeks, early season sensation Huseyin Dogan was back amongst the goals for Oss last Friday, bagging his eighth of the campaign to send TOP on their way to victory against FC Eindhoven.
Klaas Wels will be hoping there’s plenty more to come from the 24 year-old over the next few weeks with difficult fixtures against 2nd placed Go Ahead Eagles and 5th placed Almere City looming, but for now Oss must concentrate on a potentially tricky trip to Alkmaar and ensuring they at least stay in touch with the Play-off places.
Wels’ side are 6th in the table and just two points behind 5th placed Almere heading into match day 13, and their strong start to the season has largely been due to some excellent performances on the road which have included victories at 3rd placed Twente (1-2) and 7th placed NEC (1-5).
Oss have accrued 11 points from a possible 18 on their travels, conceding just three goals in the process, and it’s surprising therefore that at time of press the bookies rate them as narrow underdogs for this week’s encounter in Alkmaar.
Jong AZ are without a win in seven now and were comprehensively outplayed by an out of form NEC last week in a 3-1 defeat at Goffertstadion. Martin Haar’s men have just one victory to their name this season although that did arrive against Go Ahead in a 3-2 thriller.
There have simply been too many disappointing results since though and an obvious lack of success to suggest that Jong should be favourites here, and although they’re unbeaten in their last three outings at AFAS Stadion, two of those games were against 18th placed Helmond Sport and bottom side Jong Utrecht.
Six draws from 12 games overall this term is the main reason why Jong are keeping themselves just above those basement sides in 16th, but they should be doing much better considering they have 11 goal man Ferdy Druijf in their ranks who is currently the top scorer in Eerste Divisie.
Jong did manage to beat Oss 3-1 here last term which is a slight concern for punters however the 12 point gap between these teams in the table more than suggests the Alkmaar reserves have it all to do this time around.
Oss have one of the best away records in the league so far and we’re backing them to land the spoils here – Klaas Wels’ charges are way overpriced when you factor in their achievements so far this term and the lack of overall quality in opposition.
With Druijf always likely to nab a goal for the hosts, it should be a fairly entertaining game this Friday, but one which we expect Oss to pull clear in, 1-3.
Head to Head
The sides met for the first time last season, with Oss winning 2-1 at Frans Heesen Stadion and Jong AZ successful here at AFAS Stadion in a 3-1 victory.
AZ Reserves Team News
First choice keeper Rody De Boer is still out for the hosts with a shoulder injury so Jasper Schendelaar retains his place in goal. Vince Dekker should start again for Jong in attack after his goal in the 3-1 defeat at NEC last week. Captain and Eerste Divisie top scorer Ferdy Druijf leads the line once more for Martin Haar's men.
FC Oss Team News
Klaas Wels has a full squad at his disposal for the trip to Alkmaar but is unlikely to rock the boat following his side's back to back wins against NEC and FC Eindhoven. Forward Huseyin Dogan will be hoping to get in amongst the goals again after ending his dry spell on match day 12.
