Monaco Champions League

Bayer Leverkusen vs Monaco Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Reason For Bayer Leverkusen vs Monaco Betting Tips

Bayer Leverkusen’s winless streak extended to four matches on Saturday when they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Freiburg. This followed on from defeats to Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig and a draw against CSKA Moscow to leave them a disappointing 9th in the Bundesliga.

However, their draw at CSKA Moscow did confirm qualification to the Champions League knockout stages, as Spurs’ miserable European campaign continued. They have no chance of claiming the top spot off Monaco, but ending the group stages would be a promising way to look forward to the knockout rounds.

Bayer Leverkusen’s home form isn’t the best either though. They have only won three of their last nine games at the BayArena and have lost to Leipzig and Hoffenheim in this period.

Now they come face to face with a dominant Monaco side enjoying a fantastic season. The visitors hammered Bastia 5-0 on Saturday to extend their unbeaten streak to ten games in all competitions. Seven of these matches have been victories, resulting in them sitting at the top of Ligue 1 and having already won their Champions League group.

It’s been a complete change in tactics this season for Monaco. No longer are they playing a defensive game, instead they look scintillating in attack. They have scored 32 goals in their last ten matches and conceded just six at the other end.

It’s been none other than Radamel Falcao making a spectacular return to form who has guided Monaco to this high scoring approach. The Colombian front-man has netted seven goals in his ten Ligue 1 appearances and added another four in the Champions League. Guido Carrillo, Thomas Lemar, and Valere Germain have scored 23 goals between them as well. Carrillo has found the net in each of his last three games as well, so backing him to score anytime looks the best choice for our goalscorer predictions.

Monaco’s away form has been nowhere near as good as their home form this season, but they have still only lost two of their 11 trips away. With Bayer Leverkusen struggling for form and not really having any motivation to go all out for the win I think backing a Monaco Win or Draw Double Chance at 1/1 looks a good option. I’m going for a 2-1 correct score predictions at 12/1 as well.

Head to Head

Monaco have won two and drawn one of their three previous meetings with Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen Team News

Bayer Leverkusen Team Badge Defenders Lukas Boeder and Joel Abu Hanna, midfielders Karim Bellarabi and Lars Bender, and strikers Kevin Volland and Admir Mehmedi are all sidelined for the hosts.

Monaco Team News

Monaco Team Badge Defender Benjamin Mendy is Monaco's only injury concern for this clash.
