Reason For Chelsea vs Manchester City Betting Tips
Chelsea saw their already slim hopes of lifting the Premier League trophy in Maurizio Sarri’s first season in charge all but slip away from them in midweek. They lost 2-1 against a Wolves side who looked desperately out of form, dropping them into 4th position and putting a massive 10 point gulf between them and the top of the table.
The Blues have certainly seen their results falter in recent weeks. They have won just 1 of their last 4 Premier League matches, losing in disappointing fashion against both Spurs and Wolves and only managing to take a point at home against Everton.
In fact, the danger signs started a while back now. Chelsea, despite their lengthy unbeaten run at the start of the campaign, have only actually won 4 of their last 10 Premier League matches, and all of those victories came against sides currently mired in the bottom 6 of the table.
Admittedly Chelsea are still unbeaten at Stamford Bridge, but they haven’t faced a side quite at the level of Manchester City yet. The Citizens were hot favourites to retain their Premier League trophy this season, and they are showing just why at the moment.
Pep Guardiola’s side beat Watford 2-1 at Vicarage Road in midweek to extend their unbeaten start to the league season. They have won 13 of their 15 league matches so far and harbour a 2 point lead over Liverpool behind them.
That win against Watford made it 7 on the bounce in the league, and they have scored a ridiculous 24 goals in the process. They have averaged 3 goals per league game this season while conceding just 7 times, so Chelsea have a huge job on their hands if they want to get back to winning ways.
Considering the visitors’ incredibly good form at the moment, along with Chelsea’s significant dip in performance level, we think backing a Manchester City win here looks the best option. This case is strengthened by the fact that Manchester City have won their last 3 meetings with Chelsea and have won 2 of their last 3 league games at Stamford Bridge, so we’re backing that alongside a 2-1 correct score predictions.
Head to Head
Manchester City have won four, drawn one, and lost one of their last six meetings with Chelsea, including winning two of their last three trips to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Chelsea Team News
Marko van Ginkel is the only confirmed absentee for Chelsea, but both Ross Barkley and Victor Moses are carrying knocks and could miss out on Saturday.
Manchester City Team News
Claudio Bravo, Eliaquim Mangala, Benjamin Mendy, and Kevin De Bruyne are all still ruled out, with Oleksandr Zinchenko a doubt too. Sergio Aguero is the major concern though, with Pep Guardiola desperately hoping he can recover from injury in time to play.
