Reason For Finn Harps vs Wexford Youths Betting Tips
Finn Harps are faring well in their first season back in the League of Ireland Premier Division so far. They have endured a few sticky patches, with the main one being a nine match winless streak that started in April and lasted until the end of May. However, recently they have managed to win three, draw one, and lose one of their last five matches in the Premier Division.
This influx of points has propelled them up the table and away from the danger zone, and they now sit in 8th position with 23 points from their 19 games. They are 11 points clear of the relegation playoff position and could move as high as 5th on Friday. Most of the teams above them have games in hand though, but for Finn Harps an 8th place finish in their first season back in the top flight would be a positive outcome.
Wexford Youths are also aiming to avoid relegation after they were promoted to the League of Ireland Premier Division for the first time in their history at the end of last season. Unfortunately, it’s not going quite so well for them.
They had a predictably difficult start to life in the top flight, but back in May they managed to string together a run of four victories in all competitions and it looked like they might mount a league resurgence. That’s not been the case though, and they come into this game having lost six matches on the bounce in the league.
Unsurprisingly, this puts Wexford Youths in real danger towards the bottom of the table. They are currently in the relegation playoff position of 11th, three points ahead of Longford Town but four points adrift of the safety of Bray Wanderers.
Wexford Youths have lost six of their last seven away games in the league and have won just once all season, and that came against bottom of the table Longford Town. Finn Harps, on the other hand, have won five of their nine home matches in the league this season, losing three times but generally faring well against teams in the bottom half of the table.
My prediction is for the hosts to get another three points on Friday, and odds of 11/10 for a Finn Harps Win look very good value considering the visitors’ shocking spell of form and undoubtedly rock bottom confidence. I’m going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1 as well.
