Sligo Rovers vs Finn Harps Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Reason For Sligo Rovers vs Finn Harps Betting Tips

Sligo Rovers are looking at having a relatively successful season in the League of Ireland Premier Division after finishing down in 9th place last season. They currently sit up in 5th position and have already surpassed last season’s points total by six points with nine games left to play.

This all came after a very poor start to the season which saw them fail to win any of their first nine matches in all competitions. Since they broke out of that run they have only lost four times, winning 11 and drawing three of their 18 outings. This has taken them to within ten points of the top three in the Premier Division, and they also have a game in hand on Derry City in 3rd.

There was a recent threat of a downturn in form when they lost back to back matches against Bohemians and Wexford Youths, but a 2-1 win over Galway United last weekend nipped this in the bud before it could spiral out of control. This victory took their unbeaten streak on home turf to 12 matches, with seven of their last nine ending in victory.

Finn Harps are having a less successful season, although considering they were only promoted last season, they will still be fairly happy. The visitors sit just outside the danger zone in 10th position in the Premier Division with a five point cushion over the relegation playoff position, two games in hand on Wexford Youths below them, and one game in hand on Bray Wanderers above them.

Their recent form has been shocking though. A 2-0 defeat at home to Shamrock rovers last Friday made it five losses in a row for them in the Premier Division, and away from home they have lost six, drawn five, and won just one of their games so far this season.

Finn Harps have also failed to find the back of the net in each of their last five matches, and they’re going up against a Sligo Rovers side who have kept seven clean sheets in their last ten home games. This makes odds of 21/20 for Sligo Rovers to Win to Nil look very good value, so I’m backing that along with a 2-0 correct score prediction at 5/1.
