Reason For Vietnam vs Iran Betting Tips
Defeat for Vietnam on Saturday and they are almost guaranteed to finish outside of the qualification places in Group D, after losing their opening game against Iraq. Saturday’s opponents Iran got off to a flying start to the group stage as they hammered Yemen by five goals to nil, and with one of the most talented and experienced squads in the competitions they could go all the way and win their fourth Asian Cup this year.
An own goal from Ali Faez Atiyah put Vietnam 1-0 up in the twenty-fourth minute of their opening group game against Iraq, but the favourites levelled the scores eleven minutes later through Muhanad Ali. Vietnam restored their one goal advantage shortly before the break after a neat finish from their 23-year old striker Nguyễn Công Phượng, who scored his seventh international goal. Iraq had the better of the play in the second half and brought themselves back onto level terms for the second time in the match on the hour mark through Humam Tariq. Vietnam were hanging on by the skin of their teeth during the latter stages of the match, and in the final minute of the ninety the pressure told as Ali Adnan scored a dramatic third goal for Iraq to win the game.
Iran strolled to success against Yemen on Monday, finding themselves 3-0 up at the break thanks to a brace from Taremi and one goal from former Wolfsburg and Fulham winger Dejagah. The second half continued in the same vein as the first with Iran doing all the passing and moving, while Yemen sat back in awe at the attacking football their opponents were producing. Azmoun added a fourth goal for the favourites in the fifty-third minute and teammate Ghoddos wrapped up a 5-0 win for Iran with twelve minutes left on the clock.
Iran head into Saturday’s game as the form favourites after they remained unbeaten in their last six matches, picking up four wins and two draws. Vietnam won three and drew two before the Asian Cup started, but suffered defeat in their first group game, which might have damaged their moral. Nguyễn Công Phượng scored in the first group game and now has seven international goals for his country, while Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng is a threat from midfield having netted twelve goals in fifty-eight appearances for Vietnam. Iran’s forward line is packed full of goals, with Ansarifard on eighteen, Taremi on fifteen, and Azmoun on twenty-five goals for their country, while midfielder and vice-captain Dejagah has chipped in with ten goals.
We’re confident that Iran will win and that both teams will score in the process, and have backed a final score of 3-1. Both teams have scored in five of Vietnam’s and four of Iran’s last six international matches. Iran are unbeaten in their last eight matches, five of which have ended in victory and the other three all ending in stalemate. Iran have a much more experienced and talented squad than Vietnam and the favourites should have no trouble picking up another three points this weekend.
Head to Head
These two countries have never played one another before which might suit Vietnam as they are the underdogs and will be hoping to catch their more illustrious opponents off guard this weekend.
