Genesis Open Betting Tips and Predictions

Riviera Country Club, Pacific Palisades, California
Thursday 14th February 2019 to Sunday 17th February 2019

Genesis Open Betting Tips and Predictions for the PGA Tour event from Riviera Country Club, Pacific Palisades, California between Thursday 14th February and Sunday 17th February shown live on Sky Sports.

Type of player suited to the challenge
The players to look in detail at this week are the quality ball strikers in the field and ones who plan their way around the holes well. Faders are favoured here and power is an asset since the redesign has made the course long. Ultimately, those who have good course management and experience of the course are the players who are likely to go well here.

Key attribute
Accuracy

Justin Thomas

2.5pts Each-Way

Since the redesign, big hitters are starting to become favoured here as seen by the wins for Mickelson and Watson recently. Justin Thomas is a player who not only possesses power but also has incredible skill and talent with his irons and the experience of winning big events. Thomas finished 9th here last season so has good memories of the course as well as being prepared in terms of course management this week. He comes here in good form having come third in his last outing at the Phoenix Open.

Bet Now

Hideki Matsuyama

2pts Each-Way

Hideki comes here on the back of a 15th finish at the Phoenix Open two weeks ago whilst ranking 2nd in GIR and he finished 3rd at Torrey Pines which shows the Japanese’s game is back and in good shape. He hasn’t won on tour since August 2017 but with his resurgence of form we feel he’s one worth backing this week.

Bet Now

Louis Oosthuizen

1pt Each-Way

Louis is a greens in regulation machine, ranking top in the American GIR figures and 11th in the European rankings. He is in good form having finished 4th at the Abu Dhabi Championship and although he’s been suffering with a slight neck injury, he did sit out the Dubai Desert Classic and should benefit from the rest here.

Bet Now

Adam Hadwin

1pt Each-Way

Hadwin finished 6th here at Riviera last year and played well at the Dubai Desert Classic recently. He finished 18th at Pebble Beach last week which is nothing to be sniffed at and a good run here could see him challenge come Sunday.

Bet Now

Rafa Cabrera-Bello

1pt Each-Way

Rafa finished 26th here last year and would have finished higher last week was it not for his three double bogeys in a final round 74 at Pebble Beach. He played very steady last week bar that final round blip and we feel his price is too big for the talented Spaniard.
