Atlanta Braves @ Kansas City Royals
Free Pick: Game Total Over 8.5 at 20/21 with bet365
The Kansas City Royals won the series opener against the NL East Atlanta Braves 5-1 last night. They’ll be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing stretch, where they lost three of four in a series at Yankee Stadium against New York and two of three against division rivals the Cleveland Indians. The defending World Series champions are under .500 at 17-18, but they have defended their home field relatively well collecting a 10-5 record.
Beating the Braves should be a regulation task. Atlanta have been hapless throughout the first month and a half of the year posting an 8-26 record, though slightly better 6-9 road mark and they already look like a team destined to have a brutally long season with serious problems in terms of the offense and the line-up, some really bad defensive outings and of course the pitching rotation. They’ve lost seven of their last eight games.
Mike Foltynewicz (Braves) – Foltynewicz is set to make his third start of the 2016 season. He did well last time out giving up just two runs in seven innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but the 24-year old has just 17 career starts and a career ERA that sits at 5.59.
Dillon Gee (Royals) – Dillon Gee has already pitched more than 20 innings in seven outings this year, but Saturday night will be the first start of this campaign. He’s given up 18 hits and six runs in those 20 innings, along with eight walks and 16 hits.
Reason for Betting Tip
Gee has an okayish career behind him as a starting pitcher, but the reality is that this game pits two men on the mound who haven’t had the responsibility of starting with the ball in their hand much lately. The Royals still possess a formidable line-up and the Braves have a few players capable of going deep, look for the bullpens of both rosters to get heavily involved tonight and anticipate plenty of runs scored with nice value on the Over 8.5 market.

Kansas City Royals – Injuries to Chris Young and Kris Medlan have forced Gee out of the bullpen and into the rotation. Meanwhile, Mike Moustakas is a valuable hitting presence missing from the line-up.
Atlanta Braves – They’ve got injury problems on their pitching staff and Hector Oliveira will be unavailable for tonight’s game due to legal issues.
