Brewers-vs-Astros-Betting-Tips

Free Pick: Alternate Game Total Over 8.0 at 5/8 with bet365

The Houston Astros started the season aiming to build upon a return to the postseason, but early pitching problems have been a cause for concern. After getting a terrific performance from Dallas Keuchel in the season opener against the New York Yankees, the Astros have lost four straight while giving up 30 runs. They’ll be hoping that the fifth man in the rotation, Doug Fister, whom they picked up from the Washington Nationals during the offseason, can halt the slide. One early season bright point has been the play of rookie first baseman, Tyler White, he already has nine hits in 13-at-bats this season, including a couple of homers.

For the Brewers, they are 2-2 with two consecutive wins and they hand the second start of the season to Wily Peralta, who gave up five runs in just four innings in the early season rout at the hands of the San Francisco Giants. There’s a suspicion that Milwaukee has a useful ball club, but just needs to find a way to compete in their division and that has perhaps been confirmed in the opening couple of series.

Reason for Betting Tips

Fister didn’t have a particularly good Spring Training outing and we suspect that he might need a couple of starts before he plays to his potential. Peralta is a solid pitcher, but unspectacular and he is going up against a fired up and determined Astros line-up. This game should be a good match-up, with plenty of runs and a couple of big innings that takes it Over an 8.0 Game Total.

Pitcher match-up:

Wily Peralta (Brewers) – The 26-year old is a long-time Brewers’ pitcher, making 90 starts and now in his fifth season. There’s a feeling that he could be a player ready to step up in 2016, in his career, he is 36-28 with a 4.06 ERA.

Doug Fister (Nationals) – Fister makes his first start for the Astros after a disappointing season in Washington, disrupted by injury. He went 5-7 with a 4.19 ERA in 2015, but has been a pretty solid lower rotation pitcher for the Detroit Tigers and Nationals across the three previous seasons.
