Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding Predictions and Betting Tips
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding Predictions and Betting Tips for the WBA super middleweight world championship title fight on Saturday 16th December at Madison Square Garden in New York City and shown live on Sky Sports Box Office & DAZN.
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (50-1-2) is one of the best boxers on the planet, highly rated on most pound-for-pound lists. He sealed his place high on those lists with a dominant reign at Light Middleweight. When moving up to Middleweight, he got a title win against Miguel Cotto and over the last 18 months has fought Gennady Golovkin twice.
It has been a controversial time for Canelo. Many saw his negativity in the first fight as the reason he deserved to lose even though it ended in a draw. He then failed a drug test for clenbuterol, although it was blamed on contaminated meat. A rematch with Golovkin was organised and Canelo got the win, this time pushing Golovkin back and landing the cleaner shots.
After becoming middleweight champion, Canelo has decided to look towards new challenges and will attempt to become a three weight world champion.
He will take on Rocky Fielding (27-1), the British WBA World Champion at Super Middleweight. Rocky systemically broke down Tyron Zeuge to win the title, using his superior size and strength. The Scouser did incredibly well to bounce back from a crushing defeat to Callum Smith who stopped him in the first round.
Canelo has shown that he can do it all. A loss early in the career to Mayweather led to him improving his movement and defence. Against GGG, he showed his counter punching and then his pressure fighting. He attacks opponents to the body, a tactic that his coach has suggested he will utilise in this fight.
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding Predictions
This fight is all about levels. You could make an argument that Rocky Fielding isn’t even a top-five British Super Middleweight. Canelo is almost definitely a top-five boxer on the planet. The only edge for Fielding is size. He has four inches of height on Canelo, looking about a head above him during face-offs. The reach advantage is slightly greater for Fielding and he is a natural Super Middleweight whereas Canelo has had to grow into Middleweight. Fielding’s only path to victory will be using that size to bully Canelo.
I think Canelo can win this in whatever way he pleases. Callum Smith stopped Fielding in one but Smith is massive. If Canelo breaks him down, I see it being slower and more methodical, probably a late stoppage.

Katie Taylor vs Eva Wahlström Predictions and Betting Tips
Katie Taylor vs Eva Wahlström predictions and betting tips for the women’s WBA and IBF World Lightweight Championship on the undercard of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden this weekend.
Katie Taylor (11-0) and Eva Wahlström (22-0-1) have met before, in the amateurs back in 2005, and there was gold on the line back then too. Back then it was in the finals of the European Championships and it was Taylor who went on to win her first ever major gold medal. Now 13 years down the line, both are undefeated world champions as professionals, and they’re due to meet again.
The Irish sensation is one of the poster women of female boxing and after a superb amateur career, she has made the transition into the professional game with ease. It is a sign of her quality that in just six months (October 2017 – April 2018) Taylor beat Anahi Sanchez, Jessica McCaskill and Victoria Bustos. Since those defeats, all three fighters moved up to Light Welterweight and won World titles. Sanchez holds the WBA title, McCaskill the WBC and Bustos the IBF.
Wahlström is by no means a poor quality opponent though, and although she will not be the star attraction in this contest, she will be one of the toughest fighters Taylor has faced to date. The 38-years-old is coming up from Super Featherweight to take this fight, a weight division in which she holds the WBC strap
Katie Taylor vs Eva Wahlström Predictions
It should not shock anyone to learn that we can only see Taylor as the winner in this one, but with the 32-years-old only available at extremely short odds, there is little value in simply backing her to win. However, Taylor has only managed to stop one of her last five opponents so should be expecting a long night.
When you consider that Wahlström is already stepping up a weight division to take this contest, and throw in the fact that she has not stopped an opponent in since way back in 2011, it seems extremely unlikely that she will carry the sort of power that will trouble her opponent so her only chance appears to be meeting Taylor head on and trying to do enough work to take the rounds.

Katie Taylor to win by decision.
Tevin Farmer vs Francisco Fonseca Predictions and Betting Tips
Tevin Farmer vs Francisco Fonseca Predictions and Betting Tips as the IBF Super Featherweight champion puts his title on the line against a fringe world level challenger on the Canelo-Rocky undercard at Madison Square Garden.
Tevin Farmer (27-4-1) has long since set his sights on WBA Super World Super Featherweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, but despite having the wealth of Matchroom USA and DAZN in his corner, he has so far been unsuccessful in getting the fight over the line. A clash between Farmer and Jono Carroll looks to be a far more likely match-up next for Farmer but the Irishman’s draw against Guillaume Frenois on the undercard of Kell Brook’s fight last weekend may have put a spanner in the works.
Francisco Fonseca (22-1-1) is looking to win a world title at the second time of asking after he was knocked out first time around against Gervonta Davis back in August last year. Since that defeat, he has gone on to record three stoppage victories in a row, but before we get too excited it should be noted that these victories have come against a much lower standard of opposition.
Tevin Farmer vs Francisco Fonseca Predictions
Although Fonseca has only lost against the very best the division has to offer, he is still only classed as a fringe world level operator and doesn’t look like he has the tools to cause on upset on Saturday evening. The Costa Rican has a pretty padded record on the face of it and although he has a healthy knockout percentage, it would rank as a pretty big shock if he walks away with the title.
Farmer may be a world champion in his own right, but he is still seen as maximum second best in the division to Gervonta Davis. However, thanks to the promotional bandwagon that comes along with Eddie Hearn, Farmer is quickly building his name in the states. Farmer has fought against a much higher class of opposition but knows that if he is going to land some of the bigger fights the division has to offer, he will have to make a statement this weekend by dispatching his foe with relative ease.

Tevin Farmer to win by KO, TKO or DQ.
