Reason for Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants Betting tips

The rivalry between the Giants and Cowboys will write another chapter when they face off on Sunday Night Football in Arlington. Yes, we know it is only Week 2, but the importance of this game for both of these teams cannot be understated. Although a deep playoff run wasn’t in the plan for either of these sides, this game is pivotal for a side to get back to 1-1 and have a chance to compete for a playoff spot.

One of these sides is the New York Football Giants, who had an interesting game last week against the Jags. Starting with the defense, the Giants had a lot of positive moments. They only allowed 13 points, and had a couple key 3rd down stops to end some dangerous Jacksonville drives. The talent on the defensive side of the ball cannot be ignored, especially after a huge game from the heart of Giants’ secondary – S Landon Collins, CB Janoris Jenkins, and CB Eli Apple.

But there were some struggles on the offensive side of the ball, starting with the offensive line. Given they were playing the best defensive line in football, you can say it was expected that the O-Line would struggle, but there were too many avoidable mistakes that they made in both pass and run blocking. This definitely had an effect on QB Eli Manning, who missed a couple of open throws because of pressure from the Jacksonville pass rush. There were still positives, however, including RB Saquon Barkley’s monster TD run and WR Odell Beckham Jr. showing some explosiveness and elite route running on the outside. The Giants will need both of these stars to step up if they want to win in Dallas.

Speaking of the Cowboys, they were dominated by the Panthers this past Sunday. The final score was only 16-8, but that was not indicative of all of the Cowboys’ struggles. QB Dak Prescott couldn’t move the ball at all against the Carolina defense, and RB Ezekiel Elliot didn’t help out much with only 69 yards on the ground. The Dallas defense did show some strength in holding the Carolina offense to just 16 points, but the offense couldn’t even get into double digits to help them out. With some of their offensive linemen coming back, there is hope that this will fix some of the problems, but its yet to be seen.

We think this will be a hard-nosed, closely fought battle as it usually is. Given the quality of both defenses and the inconsistencies of both offenses, it is not far off to think this could be a game without much action. Out of all the options, we strongly recommend the under on the Cowboys team total, given their offensive limitations and the strength of the Giants defense.

Along with that, we like the Giants to keep this one close and possibly win outright, so we are recommending both their spread and money line. The Giants have more talent on both sides on the ball, and if QB Eli Manning can protect the football then the Giants will have a chance to take this one outright. In a close fought game, taking the points with New York seems like a smart call, and the value on their money line is definitely worth taking.
