Reason for Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys Betting tips

The NFC East playoff race is beginning to heat up as we head into November and this Sunday Night Football matchup will surely add some fuel to the fire. Washington currently sets atop the NFC East at 5-3, but Philadelphia (4-4) and Dallas (3-5) are just one and two games back, respectively. This contest looks to be ever important in figuring out who will represent the division in the playoffs, especially for Dallas as a loss could potentially put them out of reach.

The Cowboys only played a few days ago on Monday Night Football and they weren’t able to pick up the victory against the traveling Titans. It seems that the main issue for this Dallas team is scoring points, which is obviously a huge problem because the scoreboard can’t change itself. QB Dak Prescott was underwhelming and threw a crucial INT in the redzone that could’ve changed the entire momentum of the game. The Dallas defense wasn’t able to consistently stop Titans QB Marcus Mariota, who put together his best performance of the season this past week. Its a long recovery process for Dallas as they now have to travel on a short week to Philly to play in one of the toughest environments in football.

Philadelphia should feel refreshed as they come off their bye week, especially now that their WR corps has been upgraded with the addition of WR Golden Tate. The pickup of Tate cannot go without notice, as he has been one of the most versatile and toughest to guard WRs in the league the past few seasons. Tate should have an immediate impact in a Philly offense that loves to get their WRs the ball in space.

After looking at this matchup, we feel there is only one side to lean towards in terms of the result. At this point in the season, the Eagles are a far better team than the Cowboys and should pick up a win handily here. The Dallas defense has been great all season, but will now be without the heart of their defense since LB Sean Lee is out indefinitely with his hamstring injury. The Eagles simply have too much talent on offense, both across their offensive line and at the skill positions, for Dallas to handle.

On the other side, the Philly defense has one of the best pass rushes in football and also boasts one of the best run defenses as well. This doesn’t bode well for a Dallas offense that needs to be successful on the ground in order to operate. Philly should be able to plug up Zeke’s running lanes early, and then they certainly have the capability to harass Prescott all game long with their elite pass rush.

With this in mind, we are very confident in the Eagles’ double result. They should come out firing after a bye week and go into half with the lead and then they have enough talent and smarts on both sides of the ball to keep the lead until the end. The Cowboys only average around 13.5 points per game on the road and have only scored 5 TDs in their four road games so far this year. If you add in the Eagles’ success at home, then its hard to see Philly not being able to win the first half and the game.

We also like the Eagles on the point spread as we think they will win by double digits. Dallas simply doesn’t have the offensive potential to keep up with the Eagles, who play incredibly well at home. We are thinking a final score in the realm of 27-10, so we see plenty of value in taking the Eagles on the spread. Lastly, we don’t trust the Cowboys offense on a short week and on the road against a great Philly front. Dallas won’t be able to find a rhythm offensively if RB Ezekiel Elliot gets stopped early and then it will be extremely hard for Prescott to get Dallas into the endzone. Because of this, we also like the under on Dallas’ team total of 16.5.
